Gay Dimick Taylor passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2000 in the loving arms of her family at the age of 92.

She was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on Nov. 19, 1907, the daughter of Ephraim John and Anna Lau Dimick. She received her BA from Brigham Young University in 1930, where she captured the heart of Samuel W. Taylor. They were married in California in 1934, and had been married 63 years at the time of her husband's death in 1997. She was a resident of Palo Alto from 1930 to 1940. The couple built their home -- including making the adobe bricks -- in Redwood City, CA in 1940. Gay worked at Stanford's Hoover War Library from 1930 to 1940, and then directed the Russian War Relief in the 1940's. She has been very active in the LDS Church her entire life, especially sharing her talents and energies with the Relief Society.During their lives, Gay and her husband gave a home to dozens, from babies to adults, for periods of days, weeks, or years. Brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, rebellious neighbor children, cousins, Hollywood writer collaborators, New York agents, fans, and seekers -- all found what they needed of care, good talk, and homemade bread.

Gay is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Sara and Paul Weston, grandchildren, Patrick and Elizabeth Weston, all of Redwood City, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Max and Nadine Dimick of Sacramento; and sisters, Dorothy Ostermiller of Salt Lake City; and Elise Worden of Pacifica, CA.
