An exhibit, "Trees, Leaves, and Grass: Black and White Photography," will continue through Saturday, May 13, at Sweet Branch Library, 477 F St.
William King, Salt Lake City, who provided the exhibit, was educated at Harvard and Stanford Universities, eventually becoming a professor of philosophy at Idaho State University. While teaching a course on the philosophy of art, King became interested in the aesthetics and practice of photography. He later developed a course on aesthetics issues in photography and published an article on photography in The British Journal of Aesthetics.
The photographer's collection of leaf and grass studies is an outgrowth of earlier tree studies.
