TEMPE, AZ-- Mildred Jane Stallings Galbraith, 92, died April 27, 2000 in Tempe, Arizona.

She was born May 19,1907 in Eden, Utah, the daughter of Virgil Byron and Isabell Burnett Stallings. She trained to be a teacher at Weber Academy, in Ogden. She taught in the Ogden area and in McGill Nevada. Mildred married Christopher Layton Galbraith Jr. June 9, 1930 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were long time residents of McGill, Nevada. During World War II she returned to the classroom and taught very successfully for many years. She and Layton retired to Phoenix where she was a tireless and creative church worker. They served a mission in Australia. Layton preceded her in death in 1995.Surviving are her two daughters: Sharon (Garth ) Blackham, Tempe, Arizona; Lynne (James) Mason, Orem, Utah; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Her three sisters, one brother, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Mon, May 1st at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Mon. from 11:45-12:45 p.m.
