The expansion Utah Blitzz aged a few years Friday night, and so did their coach Chris Agnello.
After taking a 2-0 lead into the game's final 15 minutes, the Blitzz surrendered two straight goals and were forced into overtime with the Colorado Comets. Fortunately for Utah, the young team quickly matured.Utah's defense tightened and the offense finally broke through in the second sudden-death overtime period when Shawn Cassella scored the game-winner to win 3-2. The victory is the first of the Blitzz franchise.
"It feels good. We weren't terribly pleased with the performance because we let two goals go by and allowed them back into the game," Agnello said. "But it was the first win of the Utah Blitzz, and we'll take it."
The Blitzz continue their road trip with a game Sunday against the Boulder Nova.
