Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Gene L. McLaughlin, age 78, passed away Tues., April 25, 2000, at his home in Sandy, Utah.

Born April 7, 1922, in Wardner, Idaho to Frank and Vida Sorenson McLaughlin. Married Norma Pedersen, they were later divorced. Married Pat Konold. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.He enjoyed bowling and golf. He loved challenging himself. He owned and managed his own business for many years, Superior Construction Co. in Murray, Utah, before he retired. He was a man who knew how to get things done.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; sister, Fay; children, Judy, Craig, Kent, Kelli, Travis; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lloyd and his sister, Verna.

"Oh Gene, you are truly loved and will be sorely missed. Your beautiful smile, bright eyes, and words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated and never forgotten."

At Gene's request private memorial services will be held. Funeral directors, Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
