TORONTO -- Tracy McGrady threw his sweatband into the stands, and walked off the Air Canada Centre court with both arms raised.
If that's the last Toronto fans will see of McGrady in a Raptors' uniform, the soon-to-be unrestricted free agent wasn't saying after his team was swept from the playoffs in three games by the New York Knicks.Shaking his head, McGrady refused to acknowledge the one question posed to him on whether he was planning to return to Toronto.
As for the way he left the court, McGrady explained it was merely a gesture after the Raptors' last game of the season.
"I was just acknowledging the crowd," McGrady said after the 87-80 loss. "They're the sixth man. They supported us well this season. It's been a great season for us and that was our last game this year.
"It was just goodbye."
He didn't say if it was so long.
McGrady, who turns 21 on May 24, is expected to command plenty of attention once he's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, having wrapped up his third season with Toronto.
Among the teams expected to show interest in him is the Orlando Magic, who have plenty of room under the salary cap and are based near McGrady's hometown of Auburndale, Fla.
"I think we have as good a chance or better than anyone to sign Tracy McGrady," Raptors coach Butch Carter said.
