WEST VALLEY CITY -- A West Valley man was beaten with a pair of metal pipes after a long-standing feud between friends grew to a boiling point Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police the man and five or six friends have an ongoing argument that occasionally flares up. In the latest instance, the group of about half a dozen people were angered when the man locked them out of his house, 4276 W. Lotus Blossom Dr. (5140 West).
