There is so much going on in the news concerning Elian Gonzalez. It is such a terrible situation. The United States, Cuba, his Miami relatives and his own father are manipulating the poor child. It is so sad. You would expect more from our country, but I guess that is too much to be hoped for.
The saddest thing is supposedly we are trying to show our children that guns are not the answer to conflicts (talking things out is what works), and then what does the attorney general of the United States do (with the president's approval)? She uses guns to get her way.Did she actually talk to the family? I understand they wanted to meet with the father. What was the big deal? They had been taking care of the boy. Why wouldn't he talk? If it had been my son, it wouldn't have taken me five months to get there.
It appears that she decided proving she was boss was more important than showing our children an example of how to talk things out. According to her actions, she, for all intents and purposes, is saying, I don't want to hear what you say, so I'll use a gun.
Typical adult behavior. Don't do as I do, do as I say. What an example. It makes you want to cry.
