The 2000 Millennium Zagat survey of Rocky Mountain Restaurants is out and available in book stores.Salt Lake's Fresco Italian Cafe was ranked No. 1 for food. The east-side Northern Italian eatery, described as "an intimate pleasure that never disappoints," scored 28 of a possible 30.

Rankings also include a popular vote, picking the following top ten Utah hot spots:

2. Fresco Italian Cafe

3. Log Haven

4. Tuscany

5. Metropolitan

6. Mariposa

7. Mandarin

8. Market Street Broiler

9. Baci Trattoria

10. Market Street Grill

Newcomers also mentioned were Bambara, in the trendy Hotel Monaco; Park City's Blind Dog Grill, dishing up "crab cakes the mountain folks inhale;" Rivers Effortless Dining, featuring a contemporary American menu; the Brazilian carnivore's haven -- Rodizio Grill; and Snake Creek Grill, a regional American dining spot.

The Rocky Mountain area took first place honors for restaurant growth in the entire country.
