At 11:30 a.m. Danny White, 28, failed to negotiate a turn in Spanish Fork Canyon and turned the semi-trailer truck he was driving upside down. The eastbound rig ran off the side of the canyon road and came to stop near some railroad tracks about 25 miles east of Spanish Fork, where it burst into flames, Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Chris Kramer said. The accident shut down U.S. 6 in both directions for almost five hours as crews worked to douse the fire, which was hard to extinguish because, "fries burn hot and long," Kramer said.
