FAYETTE, Utah - Our wonderful father and grandfather, Clyde Louis Dorius, passed away peacefully in his sleep April 28, 2000.He was born on March 28, 1907 in Ephraim, Utah to Louis Olsen Dorius and Violet Elizabeth Mellor.

As a child his relatives, neighbors, and friends were the great Danish Mormon converts who had immigrated and settled Ephraim.

He lost his own father when he was twelve years old and from that time on helped his mother support and raise his five sisters.

Mr. Dorius married Naomi Margaret Mellor from Fayette, Utah on March 28, 1930.

They survived the Great Depression in rural Sanpete and successfully raised and educated six children during extremely difficult years.

Together they exemplified the value of hard work and a positive attitude. He did not dwell on the past, never let it determine his future, and saw each morning as a new beginning

Mr. Dorius was a progressive and innovative farmer and cattleman all of his life.

He built one of the first registered Black Angus cattle herds in Utah and was a buyer for Producers Livestock in Brawley, California. During his life, he developed a productive cattle ranch. He traveled throughout this country, the Scandinavian countries, and Russia. Mr. Dorius loved hard work, farming, nature, and animals.

He took pride in finding a better way do everything.

Mr. Dorius lived 93 years without ever having a disease, an illness, a broken bone, or a vaccination.

He ate bacon and eggs and oatmeal all of his life, never smoked or drank alcohol, and loved to dance.

He experienced one of the greatest centuries in history and kept informed of everything that went on in the world. He believed in solving those problems you could solve, walking away from the ones you couldn't, and never looking back.

He set a wonderful example of survival, industry, integrity, and ambition for his progeny.

He left a wonderful legacy to his six children: Dr. Lowell Clyde Dorius, Attorney Dale M. Dorius, Mary Colleen Roundy, Anna Ranae Lee, Naomi Dixie Bond Evans, and Clair Louis Dorius.
