Ramona Mae Jackson Chaffee Rice, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, age 66, returned to her Heavenly Father on April 28, 2000 in Port Orchard, WA after a short illness.

She was born Jan. 20, 1934 in Ackerman, Mississippi to William Earl Jackson and Wilhelmine Helene Grotelueschen. She grew up in Golden, CO and loved "her" mountains. She married Martin Willard Chaffee, Sept 23, 1950 in Tillamook, OR, later divorced. She married Arthur Lennox Rice, Dec. 10, 1970 in Hermiston, OR. An active member of the LDS Church, she loved the gospel and the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ.Mom loved horses and trail rides in the mountains. She found great joy in being "Grammy" to her eight grandchildren. She loved BYU Education Week and looked forward to attending each year. She had a delightful sense of humor and a quick wit. She made the best homemade bread and cinnamon rolls in the world. Our lives have been enriched because of her love and great example. Our loss is heaven's gain. At her passing, there is one more angel in Heaven.
