Janice Henriette White Riser, age 84, died peacefully April 29, 2000, surrounded by her children.

She was born November 10, 1915, in Salt Lake City to Egbert and Katie Klea Sheets White. She married Kenneth Ward Riser on June 1, 1935. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1964.She enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist, deriv-ing great satisfaction from sharing her talents with family and friends. She was an immaculate housekeeper, a wonderful cook; she loved to travel, and took great pride in her flower gardens. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, and she thrived on attending family reunions and special gatherings. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served with her husband as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple.

She is survived by Carolyn (Gerald) Jensen, Bountiful; Scott (Jolene) Riser, Roosevelt; Rick (Sheryl) Riser, South Jordan; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; a sister Marjorie Eickmeyer, of Kansas; a sister-in-law Dorothy Winter, Salt Lake City; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Delores and Georgia; a sister-in-law, Leah Winter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2000, at 11 am at the Forestview Ward, 1111 E. Charleton Ave. (2815 South). Family will receive friends on Wednesday at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, from 6-8 p.m., and on Thursday at the Ward from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East.
