Elaine Eastman Vallett died April 29, 2000 in American Fork, Utah at the age of 68.
She was born May 5, 1931 in San Mateo, CA., to Richard Gorton and Corinne G. Eastman.Survived by two sisters: Carolyn Johnson of Spanish Fork and Elizabeth Callahan of Lakeport, CA.; seven children: David (Ardy) Vallett of West Jordan; Steven Vallett of Alpine; Cheri (Tim) Johnson of San Jose, CA; John Vallett of Oceanside, CA; Nancy (Troy) Turner of Colombia, MO; Tom (Rina) Vallett of Aptos, CA; Mark (Dawnua) Vallett of Lehi; 12 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Elaine met Jim when she was in high school. After high school she attended Brigham Young University for two years. She then attended San Jose State University, started dating Jim and they were married July 3, 1951. After she graduated, Elaine taught school for one year.
As an active member of the LDS church, she has been a den mother, stake blazer leader and was currently serving as a primary pianist. She loved to travel and visited every continent with her beloved husband.
Elaine was a long time member of the Alpine Arts Council. Her favorite pastimes were reading and watching her grandchildren's extra-curricular activities.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Alpine Second Ward Chapel, 1125 North Alpine Boulevard, Alpine, Utah. Friends may call at the ward chapel one hour prior to service. Interment, Provo City Cemetery under direction of Berg Mortuary.
