BLUFFDALE-- Lee Grant Wanlass, age 64, passed away April 29, 2000 in a Las Vegas hospital due to respiratory problems from an illness.

Born March 23, 1936 in Lehi, Utah to Fredrick Cameron and Ruth Isora Knight Wanlass. Married Helen Renee Sorensen on Sept. 20, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church. Former member of the Bluffdale Ward Bishopric. Lifelong scouter where he earned one of the highest awards, The Silver Beaver. Served as Mayor of Bluffdale City from 1978 to 1998 and is currently on Bluffdale City Council. Has given his time and love to many youth, not only as scoutmaster, but as coach and loyal supporter. He loved the outdoors and all sports, but most of all he loved following his grandchildren in anything they were involved in.Survived by wife, Renee; children Leesa Aston (Brian), Cindy Holt (Kelly), Steve (Julie), and Paul Wanlass, all of Bluffdale; 12 grandchildren: Shea, Brandi, Chet, B.J., Tyrel, Cammi, Mitch, Lacey, Amber, Mary, Jessica and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and KiLee; a brother, Kenneth N., of Kanab, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ted and Keith.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 4, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Bluffdale Utah Stake Center, 14400 So. 2700 W. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 W. and Thursday at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services.
