Editor's note: To commemorate the 150th year of continuous publication, The Deseret News is reprinting some of the letters to the editor published through the years. When I learned of the shooting of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, I had a terrible sick feeling in my stomach that prompted me to vent some of the pent up feelings about the sickness that permeates our society.
I'm sick and tired of civil disobedience in our society.
I'm sick and tired of people who want to get rid of others who have ideas contrary to their own.
I'm sick and tired of people who never think about how their actions may affect others before they commit them.
I'm sick and tired of people of who close their eyes and ears to the decay in our society and when it is very apparent that the decay is here.
I'm sick and tired of people who say that firearms and poverty cause crime. I say people cause crime.
I'm sick and tired of the decline in spiritual life and the quest for the so-called "fun" things in life.
I'm sick and tired of people who say that the minority groups are inferior and then they do exactly the same things that the minority groups are accused of doing.
I'm sick and tired of Americans who scream and riot for more freedoms but can seem to get it through their thick skulls that more freedoms demand more responsibilities.
