CITY ART AND WRITERS LIVE! will hold an open reading, Wednesday, June 14, 7 p.m., at Main Salt Lake City Library. Those wishing to read must sign up by the start of the reading to be included in the program. Ballots for the Tenth Annual Melt-Down will be available at the reading. The Melt-Down is a sampling of favorite readers chosen by City Art audiences and will open the fall season on Sept. 13.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BOOK, a lecture and exhibit sponsored by The Utah Center for the Book, will be presented Wednesday, June 21, 7 p.m., at Main Salt Lake City Library. It is a presentation ranging from clay tablets to ancient scroll to illuminated manuscript to moveable type.
WRITERS AT WORK will hold its annual conference, July 9-14, at Westminster College. Twenty talented writers will participate in readings and panels during the course of the week.
