As a long-time resident of Salt Lake City, I have been following the Utah wilderness debate through local newspapers and conservation organizations. I strongly oppose the San Rafael Swell "solution."

Wilderness designation for qualifying BLM lands in Utah is the best way to preserve the ecological and biological integrity of those lands. I love the beautiful canyon country we have here in Utah and support efforts to preserve them for our children and grandchildren.

These lands took millions of years to evolve into the grandeur we all can enjoy, yet it takes very little time to destroy this patient work of nature. Out of honor and love for our earth and the small part of it I can enjoy here in Utah, I encourage our legislators to use the wilderness designation for this land.
