ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) — A Utah-based company is buying Safe Tire Disposal Corp., an Ardmore company with tire recycling plants in Oklahoma and Texas.

Living Card Co. Inc. is buying Safe Tire for $5 million in cash and 9 million shares of Living Card stock with an estimated value of $45 million, said Jeffrey Bruteyn, chief executive of AmeriFirst Securities in Dallas and a consultant in the deal.

Living Card will change its name to Texas-based Integrated Technology Group, Bruteyn said.

"Safe Tire Recycling has the assets and the income and affiliations with government agencies that we feel will be very valuable in the future," he said.

Safe Tire collects old tires at no cost to tire dealers. The tires are recycled and used as fuel at cement and paper mills. The company has 150 employees and operates recycling plants in Choctaw and in Midlothian, San Antonio and Odessa, Texas. It also has a tire collection point in Cleveland, a Houston suburb.

Safe Tire President Scott Holden said the company plans to add 15 employees to the 30 it has in Choctaw.
