Robert Lynn Moore, age 87 of Payson, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2000 at the Mtn. Air Living Facility.
He was born May 3, 1913 in Spring Lake, Utah, a son of Reed and Vola Mae Harper Moore. He was raised by Vola and Walter Henry Butler. He married Louise Taylor Christensen, Feb. 23, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She preceded him in death July 18, 1999. Lynn attended Spring Lake and Payson Schools, graduating from Payson High School. He retired from the US Navy and then went on to retire from civil service at Hill Air Force Base. He enjoyed repairing watches, working in the apple orchard; traveling with his wife, especially to Hawaii, but most of all he loved Spring Lake. He will always be remembered as a gentleman, and always thought good of everyone. He never thought of anyone as a stranger.
Survivors include: two sons and two daughters, Robert L, Jr. (Bobbie) Moore, Spring Lake; Darrell G. (Elaine) Moore, Hamburg, New Jersey; Carma Copeland, Fruit Heights; Sharon Minehan, Ocean Shore, Washington; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children; three sisters,
Bernice (Raymond) Montague, Payson; Elizabeth Menlove, Orem; Patsy Wride, Lake Shore; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Christopherson, Spring Lake; and a brother, Darrell Butler, of Orem. He was preceded in death by two brothers, R.N. and Rodney Moore, and a son-in-law, David Copeland.
Services will be Monday, June 19, 2000, 11 a.m., in the Spring Lake 1st Ward Chapel, 12625 Spring Lake Rd. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday, 6-8 p.m. or at the Church, Monday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Spanish Fork American Legion, Post #68.
