Fred Martin Simons passed away on June 15, 2000, just three days prior to his 79th birthday, while taking care of his best friend, sweetheart, wife and eternal companion for almost 59 years, Donna Jeannette Haycock Simons.

Dad and Mom were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 27, 1941.

Dad was a quiet, unassuming man who died the way he lived, caring for other people, whether they be family, friends or strangers. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was loved by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Donna H. Simons of Bountiful, Utah; his six children, David Fred and Joan Simons of Bountiful; Richard Martin and Colleen Simons of Murray; Donna Lynne Wilde of Bountiful; Krista Jeannette Langan of Johnston Island; Clark William and Nancy Simons of Hawaii; and John Andrew (Drew) and Crystal Simons of Bountiful. Dad and Mom were blessed with a wonderful posterity, 24 grandchildren (two of whom preceded Dad in death, Marc Anthony Simons and Joshua Kevin Thinnes); and 18 great-grandchildren. Dad also leaves behind seven brothers and sisters. His brothers, Harold Earl Simons, Jr. and John Simons preceded him in death.

Dad lived his life in the service of others. He took care of his family, served his country during World War II and he was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bountiful 18th Ward, where he quietly went about doing his Heavenly Father's business.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful 18th Ward Chapel, 175 South 1000 East, Bountiful. Friends may call Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Herriman, Utah.

"The greatest gift we ever had,

it came from God, we called him Dad." You will be missed daddy; we love you.
