Kid to Kid is rounding up and destroying unsafe children's car seats through June 15. Anyone who suspects his or her car seat is outdated or unsafe should bring it to any Kid to Kid location. In exchange for turning in unsafe seats, folks will receive a bounty pack worth more than $70 filled with offers from local businesses and organizations.

Saturday the car seats collected so far will be gathered together in a large cargo bag and hoisted by a crane over the parking lot of Peterson's Marketplace, 1777 W. 12600 South. From 2 to 5 p.m., on-site inspections of car seats will be offered, as well as a contest to guess the number of car seats hanging in the bag.The car-seat safety checkpoint is sponsored by Kid to Kid, the Utah Safe Kids Coalition, Primary Children's Hospital, KISN radio and Associated Foods.

If you don't know whether your child seat is safe, bring it in and trained buyers will inspect it and check it out for recalls.
