ST. GEORGE, UT-- Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Paul L. Devenport, Jr., 77, died Sunday, May 28, 2000 in Sierra Madre, CA.

He was born May 9, 1923 in Salt Lake City, UT. to Paul L. Devenport, Sr. and Nellie Broadbent Devenport. He married Kathleen Waldron in Salt Lake City on Aug. 9, 1946. Their marriage was solem-nized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 1997.Paul was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as High Priest, Temple ordinance worker and most recently at the Family History Center. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He worked as the purchasing man-ager for Walt Disney Productions for 24 years. Paul was fun-loving and had a great sense of humor. He was liked by all and a friend to all. He will be dearly missed.

Paul is survived by his children: Paul L. Devenport, III of Monrovia, CA; and Leslie E. Nicassio of Arcadia, CA; grandchildren: Bryce Paul Devenport, Shelbi Ruth Devenport, Melissa Kay Blanchard, Eric Ryan Blanchard, Nicole Marie Matthews and Jamie Ann Craddock; siblings: Lucille Herron, Bill Deven-port, Ruth Sullivan and Richard Waldron. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant daughter, Nell June Devenport.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 6, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 300 W. St. George Blvd. A visitation will be from 10-11 prior to services at the mortuary. Interment is in the St. George City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221.
