LOGAN, UT-- Florence May Stead, 93, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandma, and friend, returned to our Heavenly Father on June 28, 2000, in Logan, Utah.
She was born April 12, 1907 to Jesse E. Simister and Emma Florence Beswick Simister in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Florence married John Tom Stead on Nov. 20, 1926. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity on Nov. 20, 1947. Florence was an active member of the LDS Church and held many church callings. Florence loved to sing in the choir.
Mom and grandma, you filled our world with love. We will miss you!
She is survived by her two daughters, Audrey (Glen) Baker, Kearns, Utah; Nancy (John) Murphy, Laketown, Utah; sister, May Moore and sister-in-law, Doris Walker, both of England. She was preceded in death by her loving sweetheart, John Tom Stead, to whom she was married for 55 years; son-in-law, Glen M. Baker; her parents; three brothers and three sisters. Her posterity includes 12 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Kearns North Stake Center, 4660 West 5015 South, Kearns, Utah. Friends and family may call at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and also on Saturday at the Kearns North Stake Center 10-10:45 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 East, Sandy.
