Reinhold Messner, the first man to climb all 14 of the world's mountains more than 26,000 feet, announced on the 30th anniversary of his brother's death on Nanga Parbat that he would scale the mountain one more time.

At 55, the Italian climber said the ascent of the 26,660-foot Himalayan mountain would be his last of the highest peaks.

"With advancing age, the mountains become higher," Messner told reporters Thursday at the Expo 2000 world's fair in Hannover, Germany.
