LAYTON-- Sybil Wendrich Hansen, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, and sister, passed away on June 29, 2000 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield.
Sybil was born on July 25, 1915 in Crescent (Sandy), Utah, a daughter of Fredrick Hermann and Wally Franziska Lucas Wendrich. She married Keith Argyle Hansen on December 21, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away on August 16, 1990. Sybil was reared in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. She lived in Bountiful; Billings, Montana; Denver, Colorado; Kennsington, Maryland; and South Jordan, Utah. She was a member of the LDS Church. She served on the Primary General Board and in many other church callings, including temple worker. She traveled to Europe, Mexico, the Orient, New Zealand and Australia on Church assignments.
Sybil is survived by her children: four sons, Kent W. (Barbara) Hansen of Scottsdale, AZ; Gary M. (Vicki) Hansen of Uintah; Fred E. (Ann) Hansen of Layton; Scott K. (Jane) Hansen of Kaysville; three daughters, Lynette (Lee) Jones of Denver, CO; Joy (Jerry) Tamborski of Clearlake City, TX; and Melanie (David) Gardner of Los Alamitos, CA; 26 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond L. Wendrich; and three sisters: Charlotte Stringham Nason, Ileann Peterson, Lucy Lewis, and Darlene Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2000 at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
