PARK CITY — A mountain biker was found Monday after he fell from a chair lift at Deer Valley.
Summit County Search and Rescue crews found the 19- or 20-year-old man who had been missing since Friday night.
Family members helped Park City police locate the missing man's vehicle in a Deer Valley parking lot near Silver Lake area, a popular mountain biking spot.
"Evidently he was stranded on the chair lift," said Summit County Search and Rescue Commander Billy Stokes. "It was shut off and he tried to get down with a makeshift rope and it broke and he shattered his leg. He tried to crawl a ways off the hill."
The mountain biker's father found his son around 1:30 a.m., Stokes said.
"The dad seemed to know pretty well where the kid would be," Stokes said.
The mountain biker was dehydrated and in shock when rescure workers arrived and carried him down the hill to an ambulance.
