SHARE Obituary: LaNore Cheney

LaNore Erma Christiansen Cheney was born in Newton, Utah on May 27, 1918 to kind and loving parents Mary Erma Hill and Niels Wilford Christiansen. She returned home to her earthly and heavenly parents July 10, 2000. Even though she endured 23 months of trials following a stroke, she maintained her sense of humor, cheerful heart, and continued to express gratitude for her blessings daily. She was always the first to comfort, lend a listening ear, or extend a helping hand to those in need.

She loved her Heavenly Father, her sweetheart of 64 years, her children and their families, the church and her home. She enjoyed keeping a clean home and yard, doing genealogy and family histories, studying the scriptures, playing the piano and organ and preparing food for all that entered her home, especially cookies for her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings throughout the years including Relief Society pianist for 19 years.

LaNore is survived by her husband Orval Cheney, five children; JaNae (Phil) Nicholes, Round Rock, Texas, Brent (Lucille) Cheney, Linda (Glenn) Reich, Darrell (Lyn) Cheney, Kent (Susan) Cheney, all of Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. We love and will miss you sweetheart, mother, grandmother and friend.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2000, 11 a.m., at the East Millcreek 16th Ward, 3408 Celeste Way (3120 East). Friends may call Friday, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
