Running

MARATHON: Deseret News/Granite Furniture Marathon, 10K and 5K walk, July 24. Registration is $30 for the marathon, $18 for the 10K and $12 for the 5K walk at any Granite Furniture location or the Deseret News, 30 E. 100 South, until July 14. Mail-in fee is $34 for the marathon, $22 for the 10K and $16 for the 5K walk. Entries must be postmarked by July 8. Walk-in fees increase to $35, $25 and $12 on July 22 and 23. MIDNITE MOON RUN: Three-mile race begins at midnight tonight. Register between 10 and 11:30 p.m. at Alta Canyon Sports Center, 9565 S. 2000 East. Cost is $18.

Softball

LEAGUE PLAY: Registration for the Lehi Men's Softball Fall League ends Aug. 9. The fee is $325 per team, with games Monday and Wednesday nights. Contact Mark Hansen at 768-0253.

CHARITY GAME: The Bryon Russell Foundation will host its second-annual All-Star Charity Softball Game at Franklin Covey Field July 15 at 6 p.m. An autograph session will be at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10, with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Rape Recovery Center, Adoption Exchange and the Bryon Russell Foundation.

TOURNAMENT: The Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic will be in Richfield July 21-22.

Winners in the men's and women's divisions earn a bid to the Western Regional USSSA Championships.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Volunteers are needed for the SPLORE's 2000 Canoe Program for individuals of all abilities, including people with disabilities and special needs.
