On July 6, 2000 Michael P. Heap, age 57, passed away in his sleep. He was the loving father of Mark and Philip, husband of Kathleen and loving friend of Lisa and Robbie.
Michael was born, raised, and educ-ated in Lancashire, England; worked for the International Re-search Foundation in Holland, and emi-grated to California in 1974.
Dr. Heap founded Reaction Engineering International, a ten year old environmen-tal and combustion engineering research company based in Salt Lake City, Utah with branches in Taiwan, Korea, and Germany. Michael contributed to the Salt Lake City community by sponsoring Ballet West and the Utah Shakespearean Festival among other organizations. He frequented the New Yorker for good food, wine and friendship.
A memorial service will be held at the David Gardner Music Hall, Saturday, July 15 at 3 p.m. The music hall is located on President's Circle, University of Utah.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in behalf of Michael Heap to D.W. Pershing, 201 South President's Circle, Rm. 205, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112-9007. The contribution will be sent to the Neurofibromatosis Foundation in Michael's name.
