Our sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend died on July 9, 2000 at Meadowbrook Care Center in St. George, Utah. She was 84 years old.

Born August 15, 1915 in Bountiful, Utah to Frank Yurka and Julia W. Tadje.

Married Paul Besley Pickering, January 18, 1936 in Layton, Utah.

Esther was a very devout Latter-day Saint and loved the gospel very much. She served in teach-ing positions and also a counselor in the Relief Society which she dearly loved. She was a special spirit and a peacemaker.

Esther loved music and played the violin at an early age and sang in the choir in her ward for many years. She loved golfing and she and her husband traveled a lot and also golfed for many years.

She is survived by two daughters: Susan Wignall (Paul), St. George; Kathy Neering (Mark) Layton, Utah. Preceded in death by daughter, Beverly Young and husband Paul; three sisters and three brothers. She has nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. This is a happy occasion for mother because she has been waiting for this reunion for some time now. She has had a lingering illness for sometime and now she is free from all her infirmities. We love you Mother.

At Esther's request, Graveside services will be at the Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd) on July 15, 200 for family members only.
