PIANIST ROBERT THIES, tonight, 5 p.m., The Sai-Sommet Restaurant, Deer Valley. Pianist Thies will perform as part of the Utah Music Festival, with cellist Eric Samuels, flutist Alison Griffiths and clarinetist Elliot Ross. Selections include the music of Bach, Rossini, Andriessen and Nielsen. A "LITE NITE AT THE OPERA," tonight, 7 p.m., Ed Kenley Memorial Amphitheater, Layton. Singers from the Davis County area will perform operatic selections from "La Boheme," "Rigoletto," "La Traviata," "Romeo and Juliet" and "Porgy and Bess," as well as the Broadway shows "Beauty and the Beast," "Phantom of the Opera" and "Man of La Mancha." Also featured will be The Three Other Tenors — David Allen, Brent Allen and Terry Behunin — who will spoof the genre. Free.

THE UNITED STATES ARMY FIELD BAND AND SOLDIER'S CHORUS, Monday, July 17, 8 p.m., SCERA Shell Outdoor Theater, Orem. The band and chorus will perform Sousa's "The Thunderer," Tchaikovsky's Finale from Symphony No. 4, Morton Gould's "American Salute" and selections from "Fiddler on the Roof," among others. GLEN CAMPBELL, Tuesday, July 18, 8 p.m, SCERA Shell Theater, Orem. The two-time Grammy winner will perform many of his, including "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Gentle on My Mind," "By the Time I Get To Phoenix," "Wichita Lineman," etc. Tickets are $18 for general admission and $24 for the reserved area, available at the SCERA box office or by calling 801-225-2569 or 801-225-ARTS.

JANENE BURTON AND ANNA FETZER, Wednesday, July 19, 7:30 p.m., Assembly Hall, Temple Square. Violinist Burton and pianist Fetzer will perform Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 and "Pavane for Viola and Harp" by Ravel, as well as pieces from the "Romeo and Juliet" ballet by Prokofiev. Free.

DAVE ALVIN BAND, AND CHRIS SMITHER, Thursday, July 20, 7:30 p.m., Gallivan Center. Alvin, co-founder of the '80s band The Blasters, will perform the his own brand of alternative-country-Americana. Smither, a distinctive folk/blues rock artist, will open. Free.

MERLE HAGGARD, Friday, July 21, 7:30 p.m., the Deseret Peak, Tooele. The country-music legend and opening act Travis Nelson will perform their familiar hits. THE SALTAIRES SHOW CHORUS, Friday, July 21, 7:30 p.m., Assembly Hall, Temple Square. The 110 barbershop singers will perform medleys from "Brigadoon" and "Finian's Rainbow," as well as patriotic songs by Jerome Kern, Frank Loesser and George M. Cohan. Free.

LIVIA REV, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.,. July 22, Assembly Hall, Temple Square. Hungarian-born pianist Rev will perform works by Bach, Liszt, Schubert and Chopin. Free.

OBO ADDY AND KUKRUDU, Saturday, 8 p.m., July 22, Tanner Amphitheater, Springdale. Renowned drummer Addy and Kukrudu, an eight-piece jazz ensemble of African and American musicians, will perform on Ghanaian percussion and Western instruments. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth, available at the door.

SALSA BRAVA, Saturday, July 22, 8 p.m., Malmstead Amphitheater, Westminster College. The local "salsamerengue orchestra" will perform Latin music as part of Westminster's Creekside Concerts series.
