Sundance Children's Theatre will hold auditions on Tuesday, July 18, in the Suite 502 of the Crane Building, 307 W. 200 South, for this year's touring production of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."

Actors can call 801-328-3456 for further information or to schedule an audition appointment.

All roles are open. The company will consist of four actors and two understudies/assistant stage managers.

In the classic Lewis Carroll story, a young Alice falls asleep on the banks of a river and follows a white rabbit into an underground world of her own imagination. Sundance's new adaptation, by Roger Bennington (who will also direct), will be told by four actors whose task it will be to conjure up Alice's world using only their imaginations and ordinary objects.

Actors will also employ their voices and bodies to create special effects, settings, sounds and characters from the play.

The Off Broadway Theatre is seeking a piano player for rehearsals for its fall production of "The Little Shop of Horrors," which will play Sept. 21-Oct. 28. This is a paid position. Those interested should call the theater at 801-355-4628 or contact musical director Ben Porter at 801-598-2156.

OBT, 272 S. Main, has also scheduled auditions on Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for possible future openings in its "improv" comedy troupe, the Quick Wits. Call 801-355-4628 to schedule an audition time, or visit OBT's Web site at www.theobt.comfor details.

Hunt Mystery & Company will hold auditions on Wednesday, July 19, at 7 p.m., for its upcoming audience-participation thrillers, "The Phantom Killer" and "More Mystery on the Moors."

"The Phantom Killer" will be performed at various venues, including the Inn on the Creek in Midway and Graycliff Lodge in Ogden Canyon, from October through December.

"More Mystery on the Moors" will be performed during December.

All positions are paid.

There are roles for five men and four women in both productions. The lead role of Paul Piamissimo in "The Phantom Killer" calls for a performer with strong tenor voice and a flair for comedy and charm. Some roles may be double-cast.

All parts require some singing and dancing. Come prepared to learn a quick dance combination and come prepared with a song (bring your own cassette tape or CD accompaniment).
