SACRAMENTO, Calif. — BYU product Tiffany Lott-Hogan fell one spot short in her bid for a heptathlon berth on the U.S. Olympic team.

Lott-Hogan, who won the javelin competition with a best of 162-9, finished fourth overall with 6,094 points — 86 shy of tying for third and earning an invitation to the Olympics.

College teammate Alicia Brimhall finished a distant 15th with a score of 5,183.

Three other Utahns also fell short of earning invitations Saturday. Julie Bennion-Murdock (BYU), Holly Gibbons (BYU) and Natalie Gibson (SUU) failed to advance past the preliminaries of the women's 400 hurdles.
