DALLAS (Reuters) — An American Airlines flight returned to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport after take-off Monday and all 128 passengers left by emergency exits after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit, the airline said.

Flight 1258 to Orlando, Fla., an MD-80 jetliner, pulled onto a taxiway at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport before the passengers and five crew went out through the overwing exits and front and rear stairs.

"There were no reports of injuries, although an elderly woman was taken to hospital as a precaution," an airline statement said.
