No greater heroine lives in today's world than the woman who is quietly doing her part.

Karma Rasmussen Phillips, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend returned to live with her Heavenly Father peacefully Saturday, July 15, 2000, at her home.

Born Aug. 31, 1934 in Ephraim, UT to Kenneth P. and Fawn Rasmussen. She married her eternal sweetheart, Loren J. Phillips Oct. 3, 1952. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple March 9, 1953.

Her true joy in life was in being with her family and sharing precious time together. She was known for her exceptional homemaking skills and her quiet, loving manner with her husband, family, and friends.

An active member of the LDS Church, she held many positions including Blazer teacher, Junior Sunday School teacher, Primary in-service teacher, Mother's Education teacher, compassionate service leader, and visiting teacher.

She was a homemaker, a collector of dolls, and loved making things with her hands. She was a seamstress and sewed temple clothes for five years for Wheeler Mortuary. She was a clerk at Kiddie Ville in Provo for 15 years and also worked for Vee's Victorian for 10 years.

Survived by her husband; children, Jay (Mary Jo) Phillips, Providence, Laura (Larry) Stewart, Wellsville, Corine (Evan) Clark, Springville, Rachel (Ralph) Cook, Wellsville, Sheldon (Marilyn) Phillips, Columbia, SC; foster daughter, Elvira (Wallace) Yazzie; 25 grandchildren; sisters, Fawn Coulthard, Wheeling, MO, Ruby Olsen, Salt Lake City, June Taylor, Worland, WY; and brother, Thomas J. Rasmussen, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by brother, Phillip; and sisters, Marlene Brown, Carolyn Noorda.

We will miss her dearly.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wed. July 19, in the Springville Fourth Ward Chapel, 355 E. Center St., Springville. Viewing will be 6-8 p.m. Tues. at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springivlle, and one hour prior to the service. Interment, Springville City Cemetery.
