Grandma Joanie was called home to live with our Heavenly Father, July 15, 2000.

Born July 20, 1934, in Payson, UT, to John Ronald and Francis Amy Brandt Schaerrer. She married Grant M. Flygare Sept 28, 1953, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from West High School. After high school she attended both University of Utah and BYU School of Nursing where she met her sweetheart. She taught elementary school for many years and enjoyed teaching autistic children later in her career. She was loved by all who knew her.

She served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived life to the fullest while fighting a battle with arthritis. She served three missions with her sweetheart and eternal companion: Nauvoo, IL, Independence, MO, and Winters Quarters, NE. She loved the Lord and was always happiest while in His service. Her life was one of service despite overwhelming health problems and physical limitations. Her love of life was only surpassed by her love of her husband and family.
