TOOELE, UT-- LaDean Jones Long beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend died at her home July 17, 2000.
Born in Tooele, Utah Oct. 17, 1920 to Conway C. Jones and Ella Ruth Shields. Married John D. Long in 1941. He died in 1992. She retired from Tooele Army Depot in Jan. 1981 after 30 years of service. She held many offices in Tooele Civic League since 1951, as well as the Utah Federation of Women's Club since 1960 and Tooele Ladies Elks since 1966. She was chosen Salt Lake Clubwoman of the year in 1974. She was a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital for 18 years and Tooele Valley Nursing Home for 29 years. She also held various church positions, presently serving as part-time missionary on Temple Square.
She is survived by a brother William "Twist" Jones (Jeanine), cousin Kenneth Dean (Norma) and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her nephew Bill and his wife Cheryl Simonich for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 20, 2000 at 1 p.m. in the Tooele Stake Center 253 South 200 East. Viewing Wednesday evening at Tate Mortuary 110 So. Main St. from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral at the Stake Center.
Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery.
