LEHI — A woman was killed and her daughter injured when their minivan went into the median and rolled several times along I-15 Tuesday afternoon.
Sandra Beddes, 43, Layton.
At 2:47 p.m. Beddes was driving with her 18-year-old daughter, Phadra, when her car moved from the left northbound lane into the median, rolled three or four times and came to rest in southbound traffic lanes. Sandra Beddes was wearing her seat belt, but the front seat broke away and she was ejected from the rolling car, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Chris Kramer.
Sandra Beddes, who Kramer said was in critical condition at the scene, was taken by ambulance to American Fork Hospital where she died. Phadra Beddes was also taken to American Fork Hospital with minor injures, Kramer said.
Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash that shut down southbound freeway traffic for about 45 minutes, he said.
