Berniece Christiansen Holding, 83 our, beloved mother, grandmother great-grand-mother and sister passed away July 16, 2000 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was born Oct. 16, 1916 in Logan, Utah to Ole and Mabel Herbert Chris-tiansen. She married Elbert George Hold-ing Jan. 4, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, He passed away Nov. 26, 1980

She graduated from Henager Busi-ness College in Salt Lake City in 1936. She had a long career as a secretary for the Utah State Tax Commission, retiring after 27 years. She later worked for the Division of Wild Life Resources. In 1982 she received the Outstanding Employee Award for the Tax Division from the Utah Public Employees Association in recognition of her excellent job performance and dedication After retiring she enjoyed traveling, going on a number of cruises and especially traveling to Branson, Mo. with life long friends.

She was the proud mother of ten children who she instilled with her values and strengths. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, she was always supportive and willing to open her home to all who needed help.

She is survived by six sons and two daughters: Claudia (Gene) Hess, Holladay; Farrell (Judy) Kaysville; Brent (Reva) Murray; Rand (Karen) Taylorsville; Blair (Pat) Kaysville; Merrilee (Rob) Clark, Basalt, CO; Kim, Marty, Salt Lake City; son-in-law, Mel Mitchell, Liver-more CA; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grand-children, two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie (Frank) Beck, Sonora CA; Eloise (Dr. Craig) Clark, Orem. Preceded in death by her husband; son, Kirk; daughter, Carolyn; grandchildren, Trent Holding, Sandy Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Corrina, Jason, Sierra, Amber, Jeri Ann and Sunny Mitchell; brother, Herbert Christiansen; and sister, Loree Snell.

The fmily would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cottonwood Hospital Oncology unit for their care and concern during her last week.

Graveside services will be held Friday July 21, 2000 at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call at Larkin Mortuary 260 E. South Temple, Thursday July 20, 2000 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services.

Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
