Norma Patterson Richards, 86, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at her home.
She was born on May 1, 1914, in Logan, Utah a daughter of John Junior and Ethel May Sanders Patterson.
She graduated from Utah State Agricultural College (USU) in 1936.
On June 8, 1937, Norma married Ivan Ford Richards in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
As a member of the LDS Church, she faithfully filled many callings. Because she loved serving others, her favorite was Relief Society President, serving in 3 wards in Utah and New Mexico.
Besides her great love for her family and friends, she enjoyed gardening, reading, handwork, sewing, cooking, her daily walks, and ice cream.
Surviving are her two daughters and two sons, Marilyn R. Lott (Charles), Plain City; Ivan Kent Richards (Bonnie), Hauula, Hawaii; Kathleen Richards, Orem; David Patterson Richards (Leah), Lyman, Wyoming; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Plain City Stake Center, 4575 W. 2125 N. Plain City, with Plain City 3rd Ward Bishop Wynn Farr officiating.
Family and friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. and at the Plain City Stake Center on Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
