KANAB, UT-- Merrill Smith Robinson, age 93, died Monday, July 17, 2000 in Kanab, Utah.

Born March 5, 1907 in Kanab, Utah to Orpha Delayne Millett and Thomas Edward Robinson. Married Rose Asay on May 8, 1933 in Kanab, Utah, later solemnized in the St. George Tem-ple. She died Janu-ary 4, 1999.

Merrill's life occu-pations of farming and ranching were both his work and his play. Many thought of him as a master gardener. He always taught by example, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved to be with him. In later years his pastime was to make braid rugs and give them away. His home was not rich but was always full of love. He was much loved by his care givers at the Skilled Nursing Facility, and kept his sense of humor until the end.

Survivors include daughters, Merrilin (John) Gassman of Sandy, Utah; Ardene Sears of Page, Arizona; Delain Judd of Fredonia, and Quila (James) Byrom of Page; daughter-in-law, Heidi Robinson of New Port, Washington; sister-in-law, Effie Robinson of Kanab; 24 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose, son Neldon, and brother Thomas Grant.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Kanab Utah Stake Center. Viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the chapel on Saturday. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
