COKE NEWELL will be signing his latest release, "Latter Days; Six Billion Years of Mormonism," Saturday, July 8, 3 p.m., Barnes & Noble in Sugarhouse.

MIKE WEIBEL AND DAN MILLER, authors of "High In Utah," will show slides and discuss their adventure of climbing the highest peak in each of Utah's 29 counties on Saturday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Robber's Roost Bookstore in Torrey.

HARRY POTTER PARTIES: The Barnes and Noble Bookstores of downtown Salt Lake, Sugarhouse, Fort Union, Murray, Sandy, Orem and Layton will stay open past midnight on Friday, July 7, to sell copies early Saturday of the fourth book in the Harry Potter series. Fans who want to purchase the latest installment can enjoy Harry Potter-related contests, games, giveaways and more. Books will be available for sale at midnight. This event is for readers of all ages.

The Media Play at Fort Union will be open Friday, July 7 until 12:30 a.m. so customers will be able to purchase the fourth Harry Potter Book. On July 8, at 7 a.m., customers will be able to have breakfast with Harry Potter. There will be games, crafts, crossword puzzles, a maze, prizes and giveaways.

The Media Play at Brickyard Plaza will be open July 7 until 12:30 a.m. and will begin selling the Harry Potter book at midnight. July 8, the store will open at 8 a.m. and there will be gift certificate giveaways and a free copy of the book.

Borders Bookstore in Crossroads will be opening the store early Saturday, July 8 at 7 a.m. Customers will be able to purchase the fourth installment in the Harry Potter Series for 40 percent off the cover price. There will be a Harry Potter Party in Borders' Children's department from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. with treats, prizes, face painting, craft activities and a trivia contest.
