WASHINGTON — Art Buchwald, the Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, was released from a Washington hospital Wednesday, a month after having a massive stroke, the hospital said.

A spokeswoman for Georgetown University Medical Center said the 74-year-old humorist would begin outpatient therapy at the hospital.

Buchwald's columns are syndicated by the Los Angeles Times and appear in more than 500 newspapers. He has published many popular books and collections of essays since 1950, including "You CAN Fool All of the People All the Time" in 1985 and "I'll Always Have Paris" in 1996.
