Dolly Bradley Clegg, age 101, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2000.

She was born February 16, 1899 in Oklahoma, the seventh and last child of James Harvey and Melissa Ann Lilley Bradley. She lived there until her family migrated to Utah in the winter of 1914. Dolly married A. Luke Clegg August 17, 1915. He died in 1979. They had three children: Reed (Naomi), Marie Jones (Garth) and Carl (Grace, deceased) and numerous grandchildren through three generations. The family lived in Roosevelt in their formative years and then moved to Provo so the children could attend college. Dad was a prominent educator and public official and Mother was a supportive and behind-the-scenes key advisor. They traveled extensively including an around-the-world excursion, rare back then. After her husband's death Mother moved to Salt Lake City and was living independently until two years ago. She was a beautiful Southern lady, immaculate in dress and action. She retained her sharp mind and fabulous memory until the end.

She and Dad were converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after they were married and were sealed as a family in the Manti Temple. Both were active church members.

Sincere thanks to Hal Cole. M.D. and his staff and to all the staff of the Salt Lake Home for their sweet and tender care of Mother in her advanced age.

Services will be at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple on Saturday, July 22 at 11 a.m., preceded by a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in the Heber City, Utah cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the "Dolly Bradley Clegg Independent Studies Scholarship", Division of Continuing Education, BYU; 209 Harman Bldg., P.O. Box 21533, Provo, UT. 84602-1533, Attn: Frank Santiago.
