SHARE ‘Small’ is comfortable, open design and is ideal for growing family

The country-styled, two-story Small meets the needs of a growing family, as well as the parents whose children come to visit. It has 2,484 square feet of living space on two floors, with a storage area of 405 square feet, and a two-car garage. The exterior has dormers across the front and a covered porch.

Inside the large entry, an archway beckons toward the living room. To the left of the entry is a coat closet with bypass doors and an archway leading to the private quarters of the home. U-shaped stairs on the right lead upstairs to bedrooms and storage areas. The living room, with French doors leading onto the deck, is separated from the breakfast nook by a wide arch.

A bay style nook with three windows opens up the kitchen for a bright, sunny atmosphere. This space is perfect for entertaining guests on an informal basis, with a conversation/eating bar opposite the range. The kitchen has an efficient work triangle with plenty of natural light flooding the sink and adjacent counter surfaces. Double doors separate the kitchen from the clothes center, three quarter bath and garage entry. A formal dining room near the front of the home offers a built-in storage cabinet, bay window and a pocket door access to the washroom and utility.

The master suite is on the opposite side of the home from the garage. It has French doors opening onto the deck in back, a large walk-in closet, two vanity sinks, a large walk-in shower and a linen closet. The library, located opposite the suite entry, is ideal for relaxing and reading one's favorite novels. As shown in the optional master suite entrance, this room could be combined with the master suite.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Each bedroom has its own linen closet and wall closet. The bedrooms are uniquely shaped with dormer windows for extra light. There is a skylight in the hall area near the stairs. Storage is necessary, and there are two finished areas off bedroom 3. One can be accessed through a closet and the other through a door.

A home needs to reflect your style of living, and this one definitely does that with the feel of comfort, relaxation and openness. This openness, with little effort, could be expanded to make this home wheelchair accessible.
