Revolution 2, Earthquakes 1
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Jamaica's Wolde Harris scored in the 63rd minute to give the New England Revolution a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday.
Harris scored his 10th goal of the season on a hard 25-yard shot that deflected off goalkeeper Joe Cannon.
Costa Rica's William Sunsing gave New England (9-9-5) a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute with his first MLS goal. Sunsing beat Cannon with a 15-yard shot to the far post.
METROSTARS 4, FUSION 2: At East Rutherford, Alex Comas scored twice and Adolfo Valencia had a goal and assist to lead the New York-New Jersey MetroStars to a team-record fifth straight victory over the Miami Fusion.
The MetroStars, 7-0-2 in their last nine games, lead the Eastern Division with 41 points (13-7-2). Miami, 0-3-1 in its last four, fell to 7-11-5 and remained in third place with 26 points.
The MetroStars had the better chances in the first half. After near-misses by Roy Meyers on a rebound in the 30th minute and Petter Villegas from close range in the 38th minute, they converted.
MUTINY 2, GALAXY 0: At Tampa Bay, Steve Trittschuh and Mamadou Diallo scored late goals as Tampa Bay beat undermanned Los Angeles. Carlos Valderrama set an MLS record with his 20th assist on Diallo's league-leading 18th goal in the 87th minute. Trittschuh opened the scoring in the 81st minute.
Los Angeles (10-7-7) played without six starters because of national team commitments.
WIZARDS 3, CREW 1: At Kansas City, Mo., Chris Henderson had two goals and an assist as the Kansas City Wizards beat the Columbus Crew to snap a three-game losing streak.
Henderson gave Kansas City (12-5-5) a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute, scoring off a pass from Matt McKeon. Henderson added his seventh goal of the season in the 82nd minute.
