PLEASANT VIEW-- The Dunn Family is honoring the life of Thomas Wesley "Wes" Dunn, who finished his 10 year battle with leukemia Thursday, July 20, 2000, at his home in Pleasant View.

Born May 4, 1922, in Ogden, a son of John Thomas and Margaret Empey Dunn. Married Lujean Putnam June 6, 1947, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Ogden High School and at-tended Weber Jr. College before beginning a career in electronic aircraft instrument repair at Hill Air Force Base in 1941. He retired 31 years later.

Wes began working as a youth of 14 years, running a milk route in the early morning hours before school classes began. He eventually established his own business as Dunn Dairy. He had an outstanding work ethic and always had a reputation as the complete "Fix-it" man.

Wes spent his adult life in the service of his God through the LDS Church. He was at different times, Elders Quorum president, Stake Sunday School president, bishop, high councilman in three stakes, and a faithful home teacher for 35 years. With his wife, Lujean, he served as an Ogden Temple ordinance worker, a full-time mission in Mesa, AZ, and a two year Stake Mission, Burch Creek Stake.

Surviving are his wife, Lujean, Pleasant View; two daughters, Renee (Raymond) Furgeson, Laguna Niguel, CA, Lael (Dr. Jeffrey) Wheeler, Pleasant View; one son, Bruce Thomas (Jeralyn) Dunn, San Diego, CA; his beloved nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Doris (Bernard) Spiers, Plain City. Wes was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Alma Bjorklund.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wed. July 26, Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary 6-8 p.m. Tues. and 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wed. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
