Arthur Van Otten, age 91, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully July 20, 2000.
Born May 24, 1909 to Aldert Gerrit and Catharina Wagenaar Van Otten in Grant City, Iowa. Married Antonia Wilhelmina Beyer Nov. 4, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a valiant servant of the Lord. He served a mission in The Nether-lands, was a former Bishop of the 19th Ward and Patriarch of the Salt Lake Stake, as well as many other callings. He was a Salt Lake Temple ordinance worker for 25 years.
Art enjoyed cooking for ward, stake, and other groups. He loved his family and enjoyed many family activities.
Survived by his wife, Toni; children, Connie (Ernie) Ward, David (Marsha) Van Otten, Gloria (Ted) Barbee; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Albert, Ralph, John.
Services will be 12 noon Tues. July 25, LDS 19th Ward chapel, 225 W. 500 No., Salt Lake City, where family and friends may call 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 E., Sandy, UT.
