WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — The wreckage of a tour helicopter that crashed, killing all seven people aboard, has been recovered from a remote mountainside on Maui Island.

Crews had to rappel down from a helicopter Sunday to get to the crash site at the 2,700-foot level of the mountain, said George Petterson, an investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board.

The bodies of the victims were recovered Saturday, a day after the Blue Hawaiian Helicopters twin-engine AS355 crashed in Iao Valley during a 35-minute tour of the West Maui mountains.

A preliminary report on the cause of the accident was expected by the end of the week, Petterson said.
